Setting Up Domain Knowledge
Configure what your AI knows about your website, products, and goals.
Domain knowledge helps FOMOchat understand your business so it can create relevant conversations and answer visitor questions accurately.
Analyzing Your Website
Enter your website URL and click Analyze. FOMOchat will:
- Scan your homepage and key pages
- Extract product/service information
- Identify features and benefits
- Note pricing if available
The analysis takes about 30 seconds.
💡 Key Takeaway: The quality of AI responses depends directly on your website content. Make sure your site accurately represents your offerings before analyzing.
What Gets Extracted
After analysis, you'll see:
- Website Summary — What your site is about
- Key Topics — Main themes and offerings
- Suggested Goal — Recommended call-to-action
Setting Your Goal
The Goal tells FOMOchat what action you want visitors to take:
Examples:
- "Sign up for a free trial"
- "Book a demo call"
- "Purchase the product"
- "Subscribe to the newsletter"
This shapes how the AI guides conversations.
Language Configuration
FOMOchat supports 19 languages for conversation generation:
English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Arabic, Hindi, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian
Setting Your Language
- Find the Language dropdown in the Knowledge section
- Select your target language
- Save to apply
What Language Affects
| Element | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Participant names | Culturally appropriate names for the language |
| Conversation content | Messages generated in selected language |
| AI Rep responses | Replies to visitors in selected language |
| Tone and style | Adjusted for cultural context |
💡 Pro Tip: For best results in non-English languages, provide your Additional Context and transcript (if using video mode) in the target language.
Adding Extra Context
Use the Additional Context field to add information the AI should know that isn't on your website:
- Upcoming promotions or launches
- Specific objections to address
- Unique selling points to emphasize
- Industry-specific terminology
- Common questions and their answers
💡 Pro Tip: Add common questions and their answers to the Additional Context. This helps the AI respond more accurately to visitor inquiries.
Video/Webinar Mode: Using Transcripts as Knowledge
When you select Chat during a video as your widget purpose, you can provide a video transcript — the spoken words from your video.
How Video Transcripts Work
The transcript becomes your primary knowledge source:
- AI generates conversations that reference video content
- Topics appear only after they're discussed in the video
- Creates authentic "watching together" experience
- Standard website knowledge becomes secondary context
What Is a Video Transcript?
A video transcript is the spoken content from your video — what the presenter says, explains, and discusses. This is different from:
- Chat logs — Written messages from attendees (used for import, not AI context)
- Website content — Your site's pages (secondary knowledge in video mode)
Where to Get Transcripts
- YouTube auto-captions
- Zoom cloud recording transcripts
- Transcription services (Otter.ai, Rev, Descript)
- Manual transcription
