Visibility Rules
Control which pages your FOMOchat widget appears on using URL-based include and exclude rules.
Visibility Rules
Visibility rules let you control exactly which pages your FOMOchat widget appears on. You can show it everywhere, only on specific pages, or exclude certain sections of your site.
How It Works
FOMOchat uses URL pattern matching to determine whether to show the widget. You can set up:
- Include rules: Only show on pages matching these patterns
- Exclude rules: Hide on pages matching these patterns
Setting Up Rules
- Open your FOMOchat in the editor
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Find the Visibility Rules section
- Add your include or exclude patterns
URL Pattern Examples
| Pattern | Matches |
|---|---|
/pricing |
Only the pricing page |
/blog/* |
All blog posts and the blog index |
/products/* |
All product pages |
*checkout* |
Any URL containing "checkout" |
Common Use Cases
Show only on landing pages
Include: /, /features, /pricing
Hide on blog and documentation
Exclude: /blog/*, /docs/*
Show only on product pages
Include: /products/*, /shop/*
Rule Priority
- If you have include rules, the widget only shows on matching pages
- If you have exclude rules, the widget shows everywhere except matching pages
- Exclude rules take priority over include rules
Tips
- Use
*as a wildcard to match any characters - Test your rules by visiting different pages on your site
- The preview in the editor always shows the widget regardless of rules
